When my son was nine years old, his best friend lived a quarter of a mile away. They spent many hours, days and years together playing in the fields, collecting turtles and riding bicycles around our beautiful Hauser Lake homes.
I loved Tyler and his family so I created portraits of them so my son would have photographs to remember them by when he grew up and eventually moved away.
In one portrait I posed Tyler holding his cherished .22 caliber rifle. In another I portrayed him with a pencil and writing paper because he loved to write.
Tyler’s sister, Maggie,
was a thoughtful, pensive, tomboy, so I scouted out a special area around my Hauser Lake studio where long green grasses flourished in a forest
like setting. I gently sat
